The Junior Advanced Course builds on the musical skills acquired in the Junior Extension Course, and apply them to keyboard and ensemble performance.
Age: 9-11
Qualifications: Graduate of the Yamaha Junior Extension Course or Young Musicians Course
Course length: 2 years (4 books)
Class schedule: One 55-minute class per week
Private Lessons: One half hour per week in addition to the class
In the Junior Advanced Course, students:
- Develop performance skills on the piano in the private lessons.
- Develop creative ability in musical arrangement and improvisation.
- Continue to emphasize hearing, reading, writing, singing and ensemble skills as part of a broader musical foundation.
