The Teacher is the Key
“When looking back at one’s life, everyone carries somewhere in their heart a teacher that enlightened them in various ways, in terms of character or intellect.” From Children are the Best Teachers, by Genichi Kawakami (Tokyo: Yamaha Music Foundation, 1981). Teacher Training & Certification The Most Qualified Teachers
Yamaha teachers also demonstrate a desire and aptitude for teaching children and a genuine dedication to teaching beginning musicians. To qualify for Yamaha training and certification, potential teachers first need to pass comprehensive music exams and be hired by an authorized Yamaha location. They must then attend an intensive series of compulsory seminars. After gaining classroom experience, teachers may receive further education in order to teach advanced courses. Periodically, instruction in updated methods and materials is required for teachers to maintain their certification.
